Some
studies indicate that children who learn a second language
before the age of 15 can speak the second language as well as
they can the first language.
Many
undergraduate institutions have recognized the imperative need
for additional language skills and have made the study of
another language a prerequisite to graduation. A second language
can open the door to new cultures and new opportunities in the
world. It is important to understand that learning a second
language is for every body, children, adolescences, young adult
and adult. Nobody has to feel left behind. |

International travel is commonplace and will become even more
accessible as advances in air travel make it more economically
feasible. Advances in computer technology have made worldwide
communication routine, resulting in global interaction on a
scale never before imagined. Social, business and political
communication is taking place every day via computer, cell
phones and e-mail.
Today more than ever, people seem to be enthusiastically
interested in other cultures and have the desire to travel and
interact in the global community.
